This past week, I've had two clients lose out on multiple offer situations. Last night, my client was $10,000 over asking price, and this was their second offer. The reality is, we need more houses on the market, and the Nashville market is competitive. Yesterday, I shared some thoughts on why the housing inventory in Nashville is so low (thanks, Inman News) and today I'd like to help my buying families (or even those considering a purchase) prepare to get the house they want at the price they can afford.
1. Get prequalified to purchase. I'd love to suggest some names and numbers of lenders who you can trust in the area and coach you on how to move forward in communicating with them.
2. Stay Updated. In this market, things are moving quickly. Be proactive in your search.
